This course prepares students for the International English Language Testing System in the four assessment modes: Speaking, Reading, Listening and Writing to attain a minimum band of 5.5. Students will be taught a wide range of vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation and critical thinking skills in order to fulfil the IELTS criteria. At the end of the course, students will be able to read, analyse and critique short passages, express in cohesive writing their views and provide accounts of incidences in comprehensive manner. Students will also be able to discuss and express their views vocally, engaging others in constructive conversation, listen to people speaking the English language and understand the content and context of what is spoken.
15 years of age, Academic Level completed minimum junior high year three or Secondary 1 Equivalent
The course focuses on improving the vocabulary and usage of the vocabulary in sentences together with correct grammar in expressing thoughts and opinions. Teachers will discuss different topics every week and provide opportunities for students to practise their skills through exercises and presentations. The mode of instruction will be teacher-centred delivery with student-centric assessment activities and reinforcement exercises. Lessons will be interactive encouraging students to participate actively and learn more as they use the language more often. Monthly formative assessments will be conducted to test different components alternately and assessment format will be in accordance to IELTS format.
Hanbridge Institute is an approved IELTS test venue (close test session) by IDP IELTS. All our students who enrolled at our programmes are able to take their IELTS test within our Institute.
